Prize money not collected by 11:00 p.m. Saturday night will be forfeited.

 

RULES

  1. All exhibits must be entered by Noon on Friday of the fair. Any entries later than the mentioned hour will be marked "Not In Competition". The flowers must be brought to the show in clear glass containers, with a card stating the Class or Name of specimen, must be registered by judging time, and grown by exhibitor.

  2. No exhibit will be removed before 9:00 p.m., Saturday of the fair.

  3. All horticultural exhibits must be grown by the exhibitor and correctly named when possible. Potted plants must have been owned by the exhibitor at least three months prior to the Show.

  4. No exhibitor is allowed more than one exhibit in a class in the Horticultural and Arrangement Section.

  5. The Standard System of judging will be used.

  6. Don't strip off foliage. Groom specimen by cleaning bugs, dust, etc. off.

  7. Fresh flowers must be used unless otherwise stated in class specifications.

  8. Plants listed on the "Let Live" section of the West Virginia Conservation List are prohibited from use in the Show.

  9. Background, if needed, will be furnished by exhibitor. A glass container must be furnished by exhibitor.

  10. All possible care will be exercised, but the Fair can assume no responsibility for loss or damage of properties.

  11. Only live plant material can be used. (silks are entered as a regular exhibit.)

            a.         Crested - One Stalk

CLASS 3 - DAHLIAS (Grown Disbudded)

            a.         Small - not over 4" in diameter - spray

            b.         Medium - 4-8" in diameter - spray

            c.         Large - over 8" in diameter - spray

 

CLASS 4 - GLADIOLUS

            a.         One spray

                        (includes foliage)

 

CLASS 5 - MARIGOLDS

            a.         Giant - one spray, any variety

            b.         Dwarf - one spray

 

CLASS 6 - PETUNIAS

            a.         Single - one stem

            b.         Double - one stem

 

CLASS 7 - SUCCULENTS (Cactus)

            a.         Small - under 6" pots

            b.         Large - over 6" pots

 

CLASS 8 - ZINNIAS - exhibit one spray only

            a.         Under 3" in diameter

            b.         3" and over in diameter

 

CLASS 9 - ANY OTHER SPECIMEN

            a.         1 to 5 stems or blooms
