GENERAL RULES

  1. Market steers must be owned by exhibitors by January 1.

  2. A limit of one baby beef steer per exhibitor

  3. Steers will be divided into weight classes. Steers will be assigned to these weight divisions by a special committee after the cattle have been weighed in. All baby beef entered must weigh a minimum of 900 pounds. The makeup of this committee would include representatives from the Vo-Ag Department, WVU Cooperative Extension Service and the Fair Association.

  4. Replacement heifers must be owned by exhibitors by June 1.

  5. Replacement heifers must be born between December 15, 2015 and March 15, 2016.

  6. Heifers must weigh 300 lbs.

  7. The exhibitor will be required to keep their stall and space in clean condition by removing filth and litter, or may hire someone to do so. Prize money will be forfeited and a $50.00 fee assessed per animal if the stall is not cleaned after the animal is removed at the close of the fair.

  8. All animals must comply with health regulations of the West Virginia Department of Agriculture.  Click here for a printable version.

  9. NO ANIMALS MAY ENTER THE BARN BEFORE THE DESIGNATED WEIGH IN TIME.
