The Buyers Dinner is invite only. Buyers who purchased livestock at the previous year's fair will receive a complimentary pass to the Wirt County Fair along with an invitation to the Buyers Dinner.

The Wirt County Fair Livestock Sale is traditionally held on Friday evening of the Fair. FFA and 4-H members have been busy all year preparing to exhibit their animals at the Fair. Members will have invested hundreds of hours over the year with daily feeding, cleaning and handling of the project animals, in order to prepare them for the annual Fair. At the Fair, animals are judged by professional livestock evaluators, and those that meet established market quality standards will be auctioned at the Livestock Sale.

These youth are the leaders of tomorrow. The FFA and 4-H programs are designed to teach their members valuable leadership skills that will benefit them in any career they may choose. The animal projects teach them the meaning of responsibility, hard work and the basics of running a small business.

Since one of the goals of these projects is to make a profit we encourage everyone to come to the auction and make a purchase to help our young people meet their goals and reward them for all of their hard work and commitment to becoming the leaders of tomorrow.

The 2022 Wirt County Fair Livestock Sale had a combined total sales of $242,842 emphasizing the community's strong support of youth agriculture programs. The Wirt County Fair would like to thank our auctioneers, John Jones, Jon Sims, and Matthew Sampson for their support of the Fair, FFA, and 4-H programs. In addition, a special thank you to last year's buyers listed below.
